I Pursue Peace
I choose to pursue peace each and every day.
I focus on achieving peace every single day. I understand that it isn’t something that just magically comes to me. I have to control it. I have to find it, hold onto it, and pursue it.
Throughout the day, I keep track of how I’m feeling. I mentally take note of where I am in terms of feelings. I look into what causes me unhappiness and stress, and what brings me amusement and joy. I direct my life accordingly so that I am constantly heading in the right direction.
Through this type of reflection, I am able to see my life in context. I can look in from above and see what is pulling my strings. I can see what has a good hold on my emotions, and I am able to take better steps at taking control of my emotional life.
I come to see stress in terms of who, what, where, when, and how.
I learn to know myself with greater complexity, and I can fine-tune my behavior to live a better life. I come to easily recognize the signals I receive from my body when stress is working its way into my system. I am sensitive to these signals, and I know how to respond accordingly.
I take excellent care of my health, and I never allow myself to take on more than I can reasonably accomplish. I accept my failures and I don’t expect perfection. I understand that peace and contentment is a process.
Questions of Reflection:
1. What particular components in my life lead to tension?
2. Do I know how to recognize the earlier stages of stress?
3. Am I able to alter my life so that stress becomes less of a problem?

Vigorous Life
I live an animated and vigorous life.
I take in deep breaths. I know that my body is healthy and that my mind is clear.
I enjoy the feeling, and I savor it. I have learned how to enjoy every second of my life, from the most stressful to the happiest. I take it all in. I breathe it in deeply. I feel like a well-oiled machine, ready and prepared for whatever life has to throw my way.
I treat myself well. I never abuse my body. I am kind to it, but not soft. I work it, run it, and test it. I eat well, pay attention to nutrition, and I always get enough sleep at night.
My life is focused and balanced. Everything makes sense. Happiness, hope, and health are deeply related. I fill myself with all the good energy life has to offer, and I let in all the warmth.
My smile is genuine. It radiates. All my happiness comes through. I share my sense of well-being. My attitude is positive and my drive carries me through life’s toughest challenges. When I feel negativity creeping up on me, I step back, and let myself relax. I let out the bad and let in the good. I wait for the negativity to pass. I don’t hold onto it. I wish it farewell.
My friends, coworkers, and family can feel the positivity. It affects their day. They then pass it back to me. It’s like we are all sharing the happiness. I am careful with the commitments and responsibilities I take on in life. I never let them get out of control. I work to enjoy my life, and the more I work on it, the easier it becomes.
Questions of Reflection:
1. Can you remember the last time you felt on top of the world?
2. Do you take care of yourself in a way you know will enhance your life?
3. Do you know how to flow through negativity and embrace the good in any situation?

Communication and Happiness
I open the door of peace and happiness with the key of love and communication.
The connections I build with other people have a great deal to do with my own sense of self-confidence and happiness. When I am confident in who I am, I am better able to step out of my shell and embrace the world. When I am unsure of myself, my relationships suffer.
Deep interpersonal relationships can be nurtured through honesty and openness.
No one really knows what is going on in my head, including myself sometimes. When they don’t understand what I am going through, our ability to relate and connect suffers. If I am feeling down, I should let my loved ones know. When they hurt my feelings, I should make it clear. They will appreciate the honesty, and will do what they can to make things better.
Find out what they are going through. Be supportive and understanding. Many times, people don’t really know what it is that they are going through. They need to talk about it. I can lend an ear. The two of us will come to understand each other on a deeper level.
Be open to honesty. Criticism can help me to see myself in a new light. Sometimes I am deaf to my own words and blind to my own actions. It’s only when others point them out that I can see myself in a new light.
Questions Of Reflection:
1. Am I open to others honest opinions?
2. Are my relationships based on and nourished by truthfulness?
3. Do I make an effort to communicate my feeling and seek out others?
