Burn the Thoughts and habits of the most effective people into your brain

My home is a complaint-free environment.

I maintain a complaint free home. My home is a place where thankfulness reigns, causing complaints to dissipate. I purposely choose each day to sprinkle my speech with thankfulness.

I give thanks in all things so I can keep myself aware of all the things going well in my life. I replace a griping attitude with an attitude of gratitude by focusing on my blessings, rather than focusing on the petty inconveniences of each day.

Some things are bound to go wrong occasionally, but it is up to me to determine how much attention I devote to those things. Instead of magnifying the minuscule, I maintain the bigger picture in mind so that I can keep things in perspective.

My children and spouse follow my example of expressing thanks in all things, so my home is like a blooming garden of gratitude. The aroma of our speech fills the air like the pleasant smell of fresh flowers.

I thank my children for everything they do – from small tasks to the way they are. I constantly thank my spouse for the work they perform in and out of our home. Following my example, my family sings a chorus of thanks all day long.

The more gratitude I express, the less bothersome the imperfect things in my life appear. I am better able to cope with disappointment when I focus on my blessings.

Today, I choose to fill the air in my home with statements of thankfulness so complaints have no place in my home. I reject a selfish attitude that can never be satisfied and adopt an attitude of humility, truly grateful for even the smallest blessings.

I use natural remedies before resorting to medicine.

When I feel ill, I try to get to the root of the problem before deciding on a solution. For example, a headache may easily be momentarily stopped with medicine. But to have long-lasting relief, I am willing to discover the true cause of the problem.

Pain is one way in which my body communicates to me that something needs attention. A headache may be caused by dehydration. In this case, the solution would be to drink more water.

I learn about how my body works so I can best care for it when issues arise. Medicine is helpful as a last resort for me. I use medicine when I need to, but I first adjust my habits whenever possible.

There are a number of ways in which I care for my body without needing to resort to pharmaceutical medicine. I adjust my diet to eat balanced meals, I eat a variety of foods, and I continually work toward eliminating unhealthy selections.

I take care of my body by stretching regularly and engaging in physical exercise. Through mental and physical activity, I strengthen my core. Adequate exercise is more efficient than many medicines at providing prolonged health and stability.

Today, I choose to take a close look at my ailments to learn what I can do to help myself feel better without having to take medicine. Whether this means adjusting my diet, exercising regularly, or getting more rest, I do what I can to help myself heal.

Self-Reflection Questions:

Do I often turn to medicine first, before trying a natural remedy?
How do I benefit from natural healing?
How can I help myself feel better today without using pharmaceutical medicine?

I use my voice to encourage.

When I speak, my goal is for every word to fall on the ears of others like fresh rain on thirsty soil. My speech is rich with encouraging words and stands out in a world full of dry and harsh expressions.

I choose my words carefully to get my point across without negativity. Even when I disagree with someone, I use kind expressions and a non-judgmental tone of voice. My encouraging speech brings hope to people drowning in anxiety and despair.

To speak encouragingly, I brainstorm and practice things I might say to people throughout the day. From a sincere compliment to a thoughtful gesture, I prepare in advance for many situations. The more I practice, the more natural it becomes.

In this age of technology, I can encourage others through various mediums. I bring them hope by sending emails, cards, or notes. Just knowing that I took the time to think of my friends is uplifting to them.

Throughout the day, I send encouraging text messages to friends and family. I may not be able to have a lengthy conversation with them, but I can let them know that I thought of them.

My encouragement goes beyond spoken words. When a friend is trying to accomplish a goal, I lend a helping hand to show my support in a practical way. I make others feel supported by caring enough to help.

Today, I choose to use my voice to build up those around me. I make it my personal goal to use my words to encourage at least three people throughout the course of the day.

Self-Reflection Questions:

Who can I encourage today?
How can I be more supportive?
Which medium can I use today to reach out to someone I love?
