Definition of Success
My definition of success is the right one for me.
What is success to one person isn’t necessarily success to another. No one can decide whether or not I am living a successful life other than myself. Success is not something that can be quantified. It is different for everyone. My own idea of success is special and unrelated to other’s definitions.
We all set our own goals, and meeting those goals is a measure of success. For a paraplegic, self-independence is quite an achievement. It can take years to reach this point. Most take their ability to get around in life for granted, but for those that have trouble, little steps in that direction are a big deal.
We all have our own ideas and ambitions. Success is personal. It is about being proud of yourself, and taking note of your progress. We should celebrate our own accomplishments, regardless of what others think about them.
Success is relative, and it is something we can all aim for. There is no one correct path for improving ourselves, and any step in that direction is a successful step, regardless of its nature.
Questions of Reflection:
1. How do you think of success?
2. Are you proud of that success?
3. Are you looking to achieve more?
