I Make Money
I make money. It does not make me.
My life is defined by my priceless relationships and irreplaceable life experiences. What I own does not define me. My income does not determine who I am.
Socio-economic classifications are meaningless to me. I do not chase power or fame. Greater virtues than these are mine because I seek excellence within my life. I know who I am and I use money to complement that.
Money is a means for me to fulfill my higher calling. I use money to help others and to pursue my passions. My goal is not to store treasures in my bank account, but to accumulate heavenly wealth. Each time I am sensitive to the needs of others, I add value to that all-important account.
In times of plenty, my conversations are free from arrogance, vanity, and greed. I do not try to top the people around me. The power to drive comparison and envy out my life is within me. My heart is content because my heart is full.
In times of need, money worries do not consume me. I am carefree like children playing at the park. I know that there will always be a bountiful supply for my needs. My heart is still content because my happiness does not depend on the balance in my bank account.
Although I may enjoy what money provides, I do not lust for it. No amount of money could ever buy my love. Love is more valuable than any material possession. Money will never shape me. Love is what makes me.
Questions of Reflection:
1. What are the priceless things in my life?
2. What virtues describe me?
3. Are my conversations filled with greed or love?

Just Say No
I know when to say no. I never take on more work than I can comfortably accomplish.
Delegating out responsibility is a talent. So is just saying no.
I know exactly what to do and when to do it. I don’t have vague ambitions. I sit down, think, and come to understand what it is I want out of my life. I know what I need to do to get there. I never let my life get out of control. I always keep my goals on target and I never neglect my body in the process.
When I find myself with more work than I can deal with, I don’t make sacrifices. I don’t steal valuable time away from other facets of my life. I have the courage to simply say no to the job. If I can, I will happily hand off the job to someone that can handle it.
Soon those around me begin to understand and respect my discretion. They come to expect quality and honesty. I never make promises I cannot keep. Although some may expect me to happily say yes even when I know I should say no, I am not afraid to set a precedent. I am not afraid to say no. There is no better time to start than today.
I offer out work to others and I don’t feel like a bad person for doing so. By thinking of myself first, I stay on top of my game and everyone around me benefits as a result. I never lose sleep, take on unneeded stress, or sacrifice my family to the job.
Questions of Reflection:
1. Am I afraid to say no?
2. Do I show as much respect to my personal life as I do to my professional life?
3. What steps can I take to make my life easier?

I Welcome Change
I welcome change into my life.
A stable life is good, but I remember to look forward to the excitement and uncertainty that the future holds. Treading the same water for too long can stifle my imagination.
Change gives me hope.
Change can be good or bad, but no matter what, we grow from it. It lets me see what I was unable to see before. It enhances my perspective and opens life.
Change is what keeps me going.
If it weren’t for change, why would I get out of bed in the morning? Why would I dream? I accept change, welcome it, and prepare myself for the new dimensions of my life that accompany it.
Change helps motive me, and allows me to fight on, even when times are tough.
It keeps me feeling young and alive. I know that my tastes can develop. I know I can learn new things. I look forward to watching my life reshape itself.
Embracing change allows me to see my life in perspective and dream big.
I start to see that I am an evolving person. I am not the same person today that I was yesterday. I know that I can change the way I see the world, the way the world sees me, and the way I live.
As I accomplish more things and see how my effort translates into real change, I come to see that I really can make a difference.
Questions Of Reflection:
1. What is my attitude toward change?
2. What about my life would I like to change?
3. What positive changes have I seen in my life?
